Tucked away in the majestic countryside of Carlow Ireland is this historical gem. After a long flight, an overly priced rental car, driving on the narrow roads from the right side of the car in the LEFT lane, and feeling the motion sickness kick in; I was about to rule out Ireland as one of my favorite wedding destinations. Then we turned right, drove through the stone arch and I saw the The Borris House. Ireland quickly moved to the top of my list again!!
The Borris House is a private and unique historical house dating back to the Kings of Leinster. The house is full of intricate details that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time, while still offering a warm and inviting atmosphere. While impressive, the highlight in my eyes was the outdoor scenery. Rolling countryside filled with grazing sheep, large branching trees, delicate cherry blossoms and lush green grass.
I owe this amazing experience to Tracy Burch, a Kentucky-based photographer, who hosted this unique destination wedding workshop.
