Cabin On The Lake Wedding | Battle Lake, MN

I was so excited when Alyssa and Caleb booked me for their July wedding at The Barn at Stoney Hills because it’s one of the prettiest venues in Minnesota. Then covid happened and the two of them had to make some tough decisions. They decided to simplify and have the wedding at Alyssa’s parents cabin...

Thank you for taking such stunning photos of my niece on her wedding day. 2020 is such an unusual time and in many ways has forced people to focus on what is truly important.  Yes, we naturally want our family to be with us when such an important milestone in our life is being celebrated, but it can be just as beautiful and memorable in it’s intimacy and simplicity. It forces us to focus on the moment and what it truly means rather than being distracted by the noise of all the details.  As your Auntie Jackie mentioned: “Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last.  As you know, a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie, therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel. We can thank Hindu traditions for this belief.  –  It also rained the day your parents were married (we were both bridesmaids).  ReplyCancel

Intimate Wedding on The North Shore | Two Harbors, MN

When Kathryn and I met last Fall to discuss her dream wedding, I was thrilled when she said they were up for anything as long as it was simple, fun, and not going to break the bank. I asked if they preferred hiking, adventure or relaxing on a beach. They were new parents so she...
