Big Sur Engagement Session | Glen Oaks + Pfeiffer Beach

Alex and Michelle will be getting married in Minnesota this Fall, but decided to go on an adventure together to celebrate their engagement. Their engagement session took place among the tall Redwoods at Glen Oaks in Big Sur, California. Following their journey through the forest, we headed out to the incredible coast and visited the iconic Pfeiffer Beach.

Why did you choose an Adventure Engagement Session vs a Traditional Engagement Session?

Alex and I have always loved traveling together—it’s one of the things that has shaped our relationship the most. We cherish any opportunity to step away from the busyness of everyday life, explore somewhere new, reconnect, and be reminded of why we fell in love in the first place.

Why did you choose Big Sur for your Destination Engagement Session?

When it came time to choose a location for our engagement session, Big Sur felt like the perfect fit. We wanted a destination that reflected our love of adventure and the outdoors, and Big Sur offered everything we could have dreamed of. From the towering redwoods to the dramatic coastline and beaches that looked straight out of a postcard, it truly felt like the best of both worlds. It was the kind of place that naturally encourages you to slow down, be present, and appreciate both the beauty around you and the person you’re experiencing it with. Between the breathtaking scenery and the peaceful slowness it brings, I truly can’t imagine a more romantic backdrop to capture this chapter of our love story.

Working with Trisha made the entire experience effortless. She was not only an incredible photographer but also an amazing resource throughout the planning process, helping us navigate locations, timing, and travel details. Most importantly, she made us feel completely comfortable and at ease in front of the camera, allowing us to simply enjoy the experience together. The photos she captured are more than just engagement pictures—they are memories from an unforgettable trip and a beautiful reflection of this season of our lives that we will treasure forever.
