Erica and Chris were married on a brisk Minnesota winter day at Rolling Ridge in St. Joseph, Minnesota. They were surrounded by their friends and family as they said “I do” under a hand-made wooden arch inside the Rolling Ridge wedding venue barn. The arch was made from wood from the family farm, and was beautifully decorated by the groom’s sister who served as both a bridesmaid and the florist for the day! Their Goals for a Simple Winter Wedding

We wanted our wedding to be “simple,” but it seemed like with each passing day things kept adding up. It felt as if we were getting further and further away from that goal. Luckily on the wedding day, everything came together perfectly and it somehow felt like that simple, beautiful day that we had envisioned. We had the most amazing team working with us that carried us through the day with such ease. They allowed us to enjoy the true meaning of the day, and really be with each other and our guests like we had originally dreamed of.

Their favorite part of their family-centered wedding day at Rolling Ridge:

Erica- I am quite surprised myself to say that one of my favorite parts of the day was the speeches from my matron of honor, Chris’s best men, and Chris’s father. It was so special to hear such words of love and support for Chris and I. There was definitely some wet eyes in the house! And the way Chris’s guys spoke so highly of Chris made me feel like the luckiest girl in the world to have married such an amazing man!

Chris- Erica walking down the aisle. It was such a special moment for Lloyd (Erica’s Dad), Erica, and I. Erica looked spectacular and I felt completely overwhelmed. It took every fiber in my being to hold back the tears. Such a precious moment between the three of us. I will remember that moment forever.Goals for married life: First and foremost, stay deeply in love with each other, start a family, and continue on our journey, together and forever.

Erica and Chris’s Tips to engaged couples planning a wedding:

Erica- Spend the extra money for video! And make sure you have a good wedding team! They can make what could be a very stressful day, feel like a breeze.

Chris- If you can do something that is unique or custom to only you – do it! The arch for our ceremony was definitely worth all the effort, and now we get to keep it forever.
