Oh where do I start??? This was such a special shoot of some of my favorite people. I just met Mollie and Isaac last summer, but I instantly fell in love with their story. They are incredible parents, live a healthy lifestyle, own a “new to them” motel that requires a lot of their attention and still maintain a healthy and happy relationship.

Oh, and did I mention Mollie is also an amazing hair and makeup stylist!

Last August I had an engagement session on Madeline Island so I hired Mollie to do the hair and makeup and she so kindly gave my daughter and I their main lodge to stay in. It was so comfy, open and instantly had my mind reeling about how perfect it would be for a Retreat. She then insisted on us visiting Blue Vista Farm before leaving town. I pulled in the driveway of the charming Farm filled with vineyards, a stone barn, fresh grown fruit and the prettiest wildflowers I’ve ever seen, and I instantly started dreaming up a shoot (or two;) Now put me in a car for a 4 hour drive home… “beautiful family, fun little town, a Farm I HAVE to shoot at, and the perfect lodge to host a Photographer Retreat”… I have to make it happen!!

Now I’m good at dreaming up pretty shoots, but I knew I needed the best in the area to make the dream a reality, so I called on Emily of Lace and Brass Events. She always exceeds my expectations and this Waffle Breakfast Anniversary Shoot was no different:)
