Sam and Jay got engaged on the farm, and just a few weeks later left the farm for Zion National Park in Utah to get married! They not only wanted an elopement that could provide them with a stress free, affordable wedding, but also the opportunity to share some adventures together.
Why did you choose to elope?
Being a wedding photographer, I had seen all of the work that goes into planning, executing and paying for a bigger wedding. I didn’t want a big show. After being together for so long, doing “real” life together, we really wanted the focus of our wedding day on just us. It was just the two of us, our photographer, and our videographer. We weren’t sure how we felt about not having our closest relatives there at first, but we actually enjoyed it so much more because it was so intimate and stress-free. It gave us the chance to focus more on each other rather than the hustle of the day. I have no regrets and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Why did you choose Zion?
We were drawn to Zion by the red rock scenery and the chance to let the adventurous side of our lives show through our wedding. We both wanted a place we haven’t been to before and I wanted no snow, so with the beauty of Southern Utah it didn’t take me long to decide.
“with the warmth of the sun on our skin and the endless expanse of the desert around us, I promise to love you with all my heart. I vow to be your partner in all of life‘s adventures. To support you in all of your dreams and aspirations. So tonight I give you my heart, and I vowed to be the best partner in life and in love.”

Other post elopement plans…
We are doing a reception for family, but I am keeping it simple. No decor. Nothing fancy, just love.
“from this day forward you will be my loving wife, but you’re so much more to me than just a wife. You are my best friend, cat mom, a great egg packer, and a pretty sweet grain cart operator.”
