Winter Elopement Inspiration

Winter can be a chilly time to elope, but look no farther for some inspiration to make it happen, and happen beautifully!!

Winter has a calming presence. It seems to be the time of year, everyone works at a slower pace, allowing us the opportunity to pause and reflect on life and yes, love. If you choose this magical time of year to exchange vows, don’t let a little chill in the air steal all your fun. This blog is filled with Winter Elopement Inspiration to help make your day feel as sweet and warm as the feelings churning inside you right now.

Find a flowy dress that allows leggings underneath, preferable nude, and some warm fuzzy boots big enough to fit thick wool socks. Send your groom to Halberstadt’s and let them layer him up in this unique and snazzy suit. (I’m seriously in love with this look!!) Hats, mittens and a jacket are a must and can easily be taken off during the photo-ops.

Fresh flowers don’t agree with freezing temps, but these beautiful dried flowers created by Project Celebration here in Minnesota can outlast all of us. They give an organic feel to the whole look as well, which I imagine the tough, outdoorsy couple willing to adventure out in the cold would be going for;)

Xsperience Photography offers simple elopement planning to help you find the perfect location whether it be in Little Falls, MN at Rice Creek Wedding Venue or off in the mountains somewhere out West. The great thing about a venue like Rice Creek is the option to head indoors with your guests immediately after or snuggle up by the campfire after the sunsets. They also have a cabin and spacious lodge-style rooms to sleep you and around 28 of your favorite peeps comfortably. The mountains can be a bit more tricky with unpredictable weather and driving conditions in the winter, but there are some pretty amazing Airbnb and lodges with views right off the deck if travel is limited (not to mention a hot tub to thaw the fingers after the snowy rendezvous!) Trisha is a certified officiant willing to sign the papers if you want it intimate and just the two of you while you exchange your vows, or Liz Merten is a certified officiant willing to create a special ceremony with words that reflect you and your love. This inspirational Winter Elopement shoot shows you how your vows can look when sent off to a talented calligrapher (Tiger Lily Invitations) which is perfect for framing or tucking away for safekeeping.

My heart skips a beat as I upload the images from this sweet Elopement created by yours truly,

p.s. a winter elopement like this one below can cost you less than $3000 for EVERYTHING if you want your day to be unique, special, intimate and very budget-friendly;)
