Anna and Tyler are both outdoor enthusiasts who share a love for travel, especially to National Parks, so a wedding at the beautiful Northern Oaks venue was the perfect fit for them. They were surrounded by all their closest friends and family, and beautiful nature. What more could they ask for?! A large white tent placed near the woods and pond hosted their dinner and dance reception. It was perfectly decorated with National Park inspiration, which was probably my favorite decor ever documented at a wedding…and I’ve been to hundreds of weddings;)

Northern Oaks Event Center

Northern Oaks is a new event center located in the heart of Central Minnesota, near St. Cloud. It is surrounded by tall Oak trees, a pond and an incredible log home. The story of this new wedding venue is a touching one to say the least…

Barb and Dan Kirchner, Danielle and Rachelle’s parents, built their dream log home for their family of six in 2000. Two short years later, Dan lost his life in a work related accident leaving Barb to manage the home, run the business and raise their four kids. After many successful years of keeping the family healthy and property maintained, the decision was made for Barb to downsize. To hold this very special place in their hearts, sisters Danielle and Rachelle, along with Danielle’s husband Andrew, dreamed up Northern Oaks.

We chose our venue Northern Oaks Events because it was unique and captivated our inspiration to have a wedding in the woods. The log home and the grounds were absolutely beautiful and the staff were welcoming and supportive of our wishes.

Wedding Reception Details… from the Bride

Tyler and I enjoy sampling food trucks, so we knew that we wanted one for our wedding. Just North of Memphis BBQ food truck offered us all delicious BBQ food served with small town hospitality.

Our day of coordinator Kaylee did a phenomenal job! She ensured us the set up and flow of the day would run smoothly, and that it did.

National Park Wedding Theme

Our national park decor theme was inspired by our love for the outdoors and our drive to continue to explore. We got engaged in Smokey Mountain National Park and we plan on honeymooning next summer in Acadia National Park! We are actually doing a two week road trip to Niagara Falls, Boston, Salem, Camden, Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. I have been to many National Parks and cannot wait to share new experiences with Tyler as we explore many more National Parks in our marriage.
