It was a lot of teamwork converting Everette’s family riverside camping and hunting property in Royalton, MN into a full blown wedding venue, but the effort was well worth it. Friends and family gathered under the trees for a sweet little ceremony, before walking the trail or hitching a tractor ride to the custom made reception space. The outdoorsy atmosphere overlooking the river made for an intimate, unique, and FUN experience for all who attended. Guests shared stories around the campfire, took shots by the camper-side bar, played bean bags and danced under the stars long into the evening.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THE LAND ON THE RIVER FOR YOUR WEDDING VENUE?

We chose to have our wedding at my husband’s family’s land on the Mississippi because it’s a place near and dear to us that we enjoy spending time at and now every time we go there we will get to remember the place we were married and all of the amazing memories we made that day.

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE MOMENT FROM THE DAY?

One of my favorite things we did, was just taking a minute to ourselves, and taking in the scene, looking at the view of the river, how everything we put so much work into came together and looked so beautiful and how happy everyone was around us.

TIPS FOR COUPLES PLANNING AN OUTDOOR WEDDING…

Have back up plans. If you want everything outside, still rent the tent incase it rains. It’s better to have it and not need it than wish you had it. Buy extra (cups/alcohol/snacks/etc.) and return what you didn’t use. That way you won’t be sending someone to the store during your wedding. We ordered umbrellas off Amazon in case it rained and just left them in the box. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather so we just returned them. And when the things that don’t go according to plan happen, don’t let them get you down, odds are you’re probably the only one who will notice anyways!
