Angela and Jon met me at The Quarries in Waite Park, Minnesota for their rainy engagement session. This was the session that made me fall in love with rain. I loved the mood and the subtle colors it portrayed. And, most of all I loved how it made them snuggle up so naturally with the intentions of warming the other up.
AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION CAPTURED FULLY ON 35 MM FILM with the NIKON F5
My first ALL film session!! I’m not going to lie…I was a nervous wreck putting an entire session in an envelope and sending it off in the mail. But it was definitely worth every gray hair:) Aside from the anticipation of waiting for the film to get developed, the whole process made me fall in love with photography all over again. It made me feel like an artist instead of just a photographer. Every location, pose and click was filled with thought and intention. And the results reflected the intentionality.
THE PROCESS OF SHOOTING FILM THESE DAYS
After shooting a few rolls of 35mm film, I package it up safely in a bubble wrap envelope and mailed it across the Country to Oregon. PHOTOVISION is my print lab of choice. After developing the rolls of film, they scan the negatives and slightly edit to match your style and aesthetic. Yes, you get the send them reference images you love so they can help you create the final look desired. You then get an email with all your film scans. And it feels like Christmas morning!!
Check out Angela and Jon’s rainy evening at the Quarries…
