It was a beautiful foggy Spring morning when I had the privilege of capturing this styled Cannon Beach, Oregon Elopement!! I personally am obsessed with fog because it gives such a soft, romantic mood to the scene so I was in my happy place.

Cannon Beach Oregon Elopement Tips

If you’re considering eloping at Cannon Beach on the incredible Coast of Oregon, consider no longer. JUST DO IT!! Of course it’s a popular tourist destination… I mean, why wouldn’t it be?! So timing of the year and timing of the day will play a huge part in how magical it feels. The great news is these were all taken late morning when the sun was shining through the fog and they still look gorgeous. Otherwise I generally recommend sunrise or sunset for two reasons: One, most people are still sleeping or out having dinner, and Two, the lighting is softer and dreamier.

As for the time of year, I highly recommend avoiding June-August when school is out and families are traveling. It CAN be done, but you will need a photographer willing to photoshop people out, plus crowds don’t necessarily make the moment very romantic. Unless they are cheering you on, in which case, how sweet!! If you choose the Summer months you will certainly want a weekday.

Where to Stay

We stayed at TOLOVANA INN and highly recommend it! You can literally walk out of your room, walk down some steps, and you’re on the beach. Head north on a scenic walk and you’ll see the iconic Haystack Rock slowly getting larger and larger. I also recommend ending your evening with a sweet little beach fire. Across from Tolovana Inn is a marketplace where you can buy wood, fire starter and food and beverages.
