North Shore Destination Wedding at Tettegouche Lodge

Sarah and Chanse hosted a simple, yet beautiful, North Shore Destination wedding at Tettegouche Lodge north of Silver Bay, Minnesota. They invited their immediate family only and hired Elope West to cover the Styling and Photography so the entire experience from beginning to end was stress-free and enjoyable.

Minnesota North Shore Destination Wedding

The North Shore of Lake Superior in the Northeast corner of Minnesota is the most sought after destination wedding and elopement location in the State. And rightfully so… it is breathtakingly beautiful and completely unique to the rest of the landscape we often see. If you continue North of Duluth, beyond Two Harbors, the coast begins to get more rugged and exciting. There is Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse and Tettegouche State Park just to name a few of my favorites. So when Sarah decided on Tettegouche Lodge I knew we had to take and adventure to the nearby Tettegouche State Park!!

Tettegouche Lodge was a pleasant surprise for this photographer!! We honestly could have skipped the Tettegouche State Park adventure if I had known they had their own trails and unique space along the Baptism River. However, I am so glad we didn’t because some alone time and a moderate hike is always a great way to spend some quality time together after the ceremony;) The Lodge had an on-site arch we were able to utilize for the ceremony on the front lawn, and the upper level deck was the perfect space for their 16 person dinner setting.

Why did you choose Tettegouche Lodge for your small wedding?

“We knew we wanted something along the north shore and needed a place big enough to hold all of our family. The Tettegouche Lodge met those needs, along with being surrounded by the most beautiful scenery. We are also excited to visit the North Shore for future anniversaries.”

What was your favorite part of your North Shore Destination Wedding?

“I loved how relaxed and calm the day felt. I spent all morning with my family and never felt rushed into the next thing. Chanse and I even got to sneak away for coffee at the local coffee shop that morning. It was a nice little private date to start the day off with. Once we got close to the ceremony time, I knew we had a loosely planned timeline so I never felt pressured to stick to it exactly. This allowed me to stay in the moment and not stress. Trish kept everything moving at a good pace and it all worked out perfectly. I also LOVED going away for an hour after the ceremony to take pictures at Tettegouche State Park. It was nice to have one on one time to talk and explore a new place together.”
