If you can’t decide between an elopement or wedding, THIS may be your answer. Grab your favorite people and have an adventure wedding at a dream location like Point Reyes National Seashore. You truly get the best of both worlds. The day is intimate and enjoyable. You are surrounded by love and support. The scenery is incredible. And let’s not forget it’s about 1/3rd the cost of a traditional wedding. Not to mention, a honeymoon attached!
Point Reyes is located in northern California about an hour north of San Francisco. It’s my Ireland fix right here in the US!! Like Ireland it features rolling hills, cattle grazing, rugged cliffs, gorgeous trees and mild temperatures with a chance of wind and rain. It’s my home away from home, and my number one recommendation when couples are searching for a dreamy elopement or intimate destination wedding. Of course there are a few tricks to eloping there, but I’ll gladly guide you the entire way.
Why did you choose an Adventure Wedding at Point Reyes National Seashore?
We always knew we wanted to elope but weren’t sure where or how. A while back we adventured northern California and absolutely loved it. After seeing pictures of an elopement Trisha (Xsperience Photography) did at Point Reyes it seemed like a perfect option. The scenery makes you feel like you are in a different country.
The treehouse Trisha recommended was perfect for us, our little guy, and 8 family members. We all had our own personal space, while sharing the main level for drinks, dinner and mingling. It also gave us peace of mind knowing our photographers were close by in the guest cottage just down the stone path. We started with getting ready photos at the treehouse, and ended with drinks, grilling and cake at the treehouse. It was so perfect!
What was your favorite part of the wedding day?-
My favorite part of the wedding day was getting to spend the whole time with my partner. We were able to spend our morning doing something we love, hiking, and the rest of the day we were able to spend together truly enjoying and taking in every moment.
What was your goal for the wedding day?
The goal for the wedding day was to live in the moment and enjoy the special memories we were creating together. We went into the day very relaxed and ready to go with the flow.
Any tips for engaged couples…
My one tip is not worrying about other people as you are planning your wedding, but to really focus on what is important to both of you. It is easy to get lost & overwhelmed in planning and trying to appease family and friends but it is your day and it should reflect you and your partner.
Honeymoon Plans…
Since we were already in California we made plans to take in as many experiences as we could. We stayed in Point Reyes for 3 nights and then ventured to Sonoma to take in wine country. From there we went to Yosemite to hike through the National Park. We made our way to Sequoia National Park, which is a MUST. Both of us fell in love with that park! We ended our trip with a couple days in San Francisco checking out Alcatraz, the pier, Fisherman’s Wharf and enjoyed some great food and beer.
