A stormy day with tornado warnings, thunder and rain wasn’t going to ruin Rebecca and Travis’s wedding day. They chose the Brainerd Lakes Area to host their celebration because it is home to them and Rebecca’s parents. The mature trees, the lake and the outdoor atmosphere created the perfect wedding venue to compliment their outdoorsy, laid back, fun spirits. There wasn’t a dull moment from getting ready to long into the night. They even had a surprise around midnight when a big maple tree fell over near the shed that was hosting their reception. If you can learn anything from this bride, it’s that your wedding day is about marrying the love of your life, not about the perfect day you envisioned in your head…
We have known each other for 16 years. We enjoy fishing together, going on adventures to the boundary waters and camping. We love experiencing new places and seeing new things with each other and our 4 boys. Our friends have been telling us, we should be together for years. It was mostly me that held back from taking the step from friend to lovers. I knew if I was going to be with Travis, that I had to be sure… that I would never break his heart. Only to realize later… duh that’s the man I’ve been looking for my whole life. We just fit so well together. Just imagine actually marring your best friend. That’s us. We genuinely respect each other and that allows us to just flow so naturally. Rain or shine, I was just happy to officially become his wife.
