When you get engaged right before covid madness takes over the world, things can get a little messy. And nothing’s messier than a backyard BBQ, am I right?!! kidding:) But seriously, Brianna and Kyle sure know how to rock this thing called life. They are the kind of people who make the most out of the hand they are dealt. Check out their Engagement, Wedding and sweet Vow Renewal story below, and whatever you do… WATCH the video at the end because this bride sure knows how to surprise her new hubby!!!
What a wild ride this first year of marriage has been! We got engaged after a Lanco concert in our hometown the day before the world shut-down to go on quarantine. We had originally hoped to have a destination wedding, but after a few months of game nights, too many Netflix binges, and no hopes of traveling anytime soon… we decided to spice things up and make it official! As the courthouses were still closed, we planned a small backyard barbeque just to sign the papers and celebrate in the moment. At that time, we had decided to save more of the sentimental traditions for later on so that our future “wedding” would still feel just as special.
After accepting the fact that traveling wasn’t going to be realistic for us anytime soon, we started looking into alternatives. Over the years, Door County has become our own little getaway from reality. We knew it would be the perfect spot for us to have what we were affectionately calling our “second wedding”. We decided to plan our ceremony on the anniversary of our elopement in reflection of our first year of marriage.
We were blessed with beautiful 75-degree weather (thank you Wisconsin weather gods), so much laughter, and a few happy tears on our day. We even watched the Bucks get a turnaround victory on their path to winning this year’s NBA finals! Overall, the entire day was so true to us.
Still, our favorite moment had to be the surprise video from Lanco where he serenaded us with our favorite love song, Born to Love You, and wished us a happy life together. As cliche as it sounds, this pandemic truly has taught us all to appreciate the memories we create with the ones that we love the most. We are so thankful to have had Xsperience Photography capture some of those moments for us to cherish forever.
