Intimate Wedding at The Landing | Shakopee, MN • Xsperience Photography

I most often photograph weddings in Central to Northern Minnesota, or head to the cities to board an airplane for an epic Destination Wedding or Elopement, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked a wedding in Shakopee, Minnesota. Well, I absolutely fell in love with this wedding at The Landing Heritage Park!! It’s definitely not the typical “cities” wedding I had pictured in my head with it’s 19th century homestead and endless country and farm style backdrops overlooking the Mississippi river.

Karla and Matt had chosen this venue prior to Covid so luckily the only changes they had to make were down-sizing the guest list and utilizing the outdoor ceremony space instead of the 19th century church. When I heard this news originally I was like, “yes, I prefer to be outside!!”, but when I saw the church with all its natural light and simplicity, I was a bit bummed myself.
