Cabin On The Lake Wedding | Battle Lake, MN • Xsperience Photography

I was so excited when Alyssa and Caleb booked me for their July wedding at The Barn at Stoney Hills because it’s one of the prettiest venues in Minnesota. Then covid happened and the two of them had to make some tough decisions. They decided to simplify and have the wedding at Alyssa’s parents cabin on Battle Lake in northern Minnesota. And I was even more excited!!!!!

My long term goal, after I’m sick of traveling the world, is to own a cabin on a lake and turn it into a small, intimate wedding venue that accommodates 20-30 people, because I adore the relaxation combined with destination atmosphere. So basically everything about this cabin wedding spoke to my heart!

We started the evening with a few getting ready moments followed by the sweetest pre-ceremony prayer. Not only is Alyssa and Caleb’s love for each other inspiring, but their love for Jesus is as well. There is no doubt they had help finding one another in this big, busy world!

The ceremony happened at the bottom of the hill overlooking Battle Lake. There were tears, laughter, some respectful boaters bypassing, dancing and even singing by the bride and groom when their song was played by the talented guitarist Mark Proulx. The guests, which were immediate family only, posed for some group shots, had dinner, toasts, some relaxing time on the deck to enjoy the beautiful summer night, and then of course we had to end with some fun IN the water!!
