I am in love. Head over heels in love…with my job!! This north shore elopement at Gooseberry Falls and Larsmont Cottages is the kind of wedding and love I want to capture over and over again. Not just the love between this amazing couple, but the love they share for both children. When we arrived at Larsmont Cottages the energy was calm with just a hint of anticipation and excitement. The kids, well mostly Mason, were involved in the getting ready process. He even dressed his Dad and followed it up with a hug (no not posed by me) and whispered “I love you Dad”…my heart melted a bit. Bailey was busy doing cartwheels:)
“Sean and I met 3 years ago while I was living and working in Kenora, ON, about two hours away from where he had just moved back home to in Roseau, MN. On our first date, we hiked all afternoon and spent the whole day talking and laughing so hard my face hurt! The conversation came so easily and I had never felt so comfortable with anybody like that before. A few months into our relationship, I remember travelling back home to Canada after having met his sweet son Mason and his other family. I was so overwhelmed with so many emotions. I knew from the very beginning that Sean was the real deal, but part of me couldn’t help but wonder how our relationship would survive the long distance. Fast forward to one year later (after a few bumps in the road), our daughter Bailey was born and I was licensed to live and work as a nurse in the US. Our story may not sound the most romantic from the outside looking in, but we truly believe that fate brought us together just the way we were meant to be.” ~Melanie
“We wanted our wedding to be intimate and had initially planned to have only our immediate family in attendance. Like so many others, Covid threw a wrench into those plans. With the US/Canada borders being shut down, my Canadian family was not able to travel here. We made the very difficult decision to go ahead with our wedding with just our two kiddos. On our wedding day, I would by lying if I said there weren’t a few tears. However, we are so thankful for Trisha and Liz who made our day SO special – we felt like we had known them forever! They were so sweet and patient with us (and our crazy kids!!). They truly captured “us” and our day in its entirety. They even decorated our cottage dining room and set up a big screen in the back yard so that we could watch a slideshow put together by my family!! They are AMAZING! We are also thankful for technology that allowed me to read some very special letters from my Mom and sister over FaceTime. We even set up a Zoom call during the ceremony so they could still all be a part of it!! Even though it was not the way we had planned it, it was still the most amazing and perfect day ever!!”
