Callie and Nathan are old souls with simple values so they chose to have a small outdoorsy wedding close to home in Little Falls, Minnesota. When their original plans of hosting a small wedding at their Grandparents farm fell threw, I jumped at the chance to finally plan a woodsy elopement just a mile from my house at Belle Prairie Park. I’ve done numerous engagement sessions at the Park and take my pups and kids there when we need some fresh air and nature, and knew it was just a matter of time before the opportunity presented itself to celebrate an elopement there! We started off with vows in the tall pine trees before adventuring off to the river where Callie and Nathan sailed away at sunset. Okay…they technically didn’t “sail” away, but in Callie’s words…”the current is taking us away!” as they paddled their way around the river. My favorite part was when I asked the to playfully give each other a splash and Callie put her hands in the water and lightly splashed Nathan. Then Nathan took the whole paddle and, not so lightly, splashed Callie. Their laid back nature, love for the simple things in life, and love for each other are enlightening and refreshing. It was such an honor to spend the evening with them and their family members.
