Kyle and Nicole’s Point Reyes Wedding at Limantour Lodge ranks in the top 5 weddings I have ever had the honor of photographing!! And I have photographed over 500 so that says A LOT! The day was filled with joy, love and laughter from beginning to end. Even the crazy West Coast wind couldn’t wipe the smile off these faces.
Limantour Lodge Wedding Vibes
What does a wedding day look like when you begin and end at Limantour Lodge? Well you can see for yourself in the many documented candids featured below. But to sum it up…relaxed, intimate, and simply beautiful. Limantour Lodge is the only hostel style lodging available within the Point Reyes Seashore boundaries. There are hiking trails galore, and the iconic Limantour Beach is just 5 minutes down the stunning countryside drive. The biggest perk for hosting your micro wedding here though is ability to have all your favorite people in one spot. It has a dormitory style bunk house, a couple houses with private rooms, and a shared terrace perfect for dinner, bean bags and great outdoor conversation.
What was your favorite part of your destination wedding in Point Reyes?
Strangely enough, exchanging our vows was the best moment. Neither one of us is comfortable in front of crowds, but realizing that it was all our family, friends, and the people we love most in the world there with us made it such an impactful yet perfectly comfortable moment. For a while we debated even bothering with a wedding (it’s expensive, a hassle, etc.) but that day on the beach felt so heady and special that it solidified “us” in a way that I hadn’t anticipated but will cherish forever. Plus we saw WHALES!!!
Why did you choose Limantour Beach on the Point Reyes National Seashore for your intimate destination wedding location?
We go to Point Reyes often! One of our favorite rituals is heading there on a weekend and running with our dog Finn on Limantour Beach.
What was your ultimate goal for choosing a small destination Wedding?
To bring all of our favorite people together! It’s such a joy to bring folks from various facets of our life together – new friendships and good memories were made that weekend and we love being the ‘excuse’ for a great party.
Any tips or advice for engaged couples?
We were engaged for a little over 3 years before we got married. Allowing ourselves the time to enjoy the state of being engaged without rushing into wedding-planning-mode was an important gift we gave ourselves. Our wedding was a time we wanted to celebrate all of the incredible relationships and people in our lives… but I was glad we had taken time to focus on just the two of us first.
Goals for married life…
To walk the balance between security and excitement. We hope we spend a lifetime of offering each other comfort… and a challenging push into the next adventure.
“Oh my gosh I can’t believe we’re a married couple! I can’t tell you how much I appreciated you and Layna being there to capture the day with us. You were so amazing and thoughtful, especially working with our grandparents and finding ways to get stunning backdrops that were accessible to them. Having you there felt so easy and comfortable.” ~Nicole
