Minnesota Wedding at Crooked Willow | Abby + Logan

This blog features a gorgeous Central Minnesota wedding at Crooked Willow. Crooked Willow is a renovated farmstead turned into a premier wedding venue in Osakis. Abby and Logan embraced the rainy day and enjoyed outdoor photos with umbrellas in hand. But also took advantage of the fun indoor scenery Crooked Willow provides. They started their day getting ready in separate His and Hers cottages before meeting in the lower part of the main red bard for a first look. After the first look we headed to the upper part of the barn and hung out by the bar with the wedding party. The ceremony was initially supposed to be outdoors, but due to the chilly rain Abby and Logan moved it indoors where their guests could find their dinner tables and conveniently transition from ceremony to reception.

What was your favorite part of the wedding day?

Getting to bring both of our families together. Because most of my family lives in Iowa, and most of his family is up here in Minnesota, we have never had the opportunity to have them together so it was great to finally get that opportunity.

Another thing was the weather. Although we both really wanted to have a perfect 70 Degree sunny day for an outdoor ceremony, I think the rainy overcast day brought another element to the day I didn’t realize how much I would like it.

Why did you choose Crooked Willow for your wedding venue?

We initially were looking at having the wedding at Logan’s parents cabin in Parkers Prairie, but as we started to run the numbers on rental items for it we quickly realized that it would cost as much as a venue, and a lot more labor time on our end. That is when I decided to look at venues in the area and stumbled upon Crooked Willow.

Their website was so detailed and informative right off the bat, and really gave you the full experience from the start page with the full drown view. I instantly fell in love with it. the red buildings. along with places to not only hold the ceremony and reception but also to have multiple buildings for both bridal parties to get ready it really made the decision easy.

Logan and I are both very outdoorsy and I felt like the venue really expressed who we are as individuals and a couple. We received so many compliments from everyone, before, during, and after the wedding.

What was your goal for the Wedding day?

My Goal was for the both of us to make the most of the day and enjoy it with those who took the time to join us for it. Everyone told us how quickly the day would go and they were not wrong. We are both just grateful to have gotten to spend it with each other and those we love.

Any tips or advice for engaged couples?

My advice would be to do what you want. Don’t let others influence you to make changes to the things you want. Logan and I were both very fortunate to have support from both families. I have heard stories from others and the pressure they receive from family and friends to do / plan things differently from what they want. – At the end of the day it is about the Bride and Groom.

Have fun with your significant other while you plan. – it can certainly be a stressful process and the last thing you want is for it to put stress on the relationship as well when it should be a happy time in your lives.
