I believe LIFE IS ART. Everything from how you dress, what you do for fun, the way you speak, move and love. We are all unique individuals and we deserve to be remembered for EXACTLY who we were made to be. Why should we pretend to be anything less.

Every photo session serves a purpose. Some are simply for updating your family photo on the wall every year. Others are for milestones you feel are too important to forget… birth, one year old, Graduation, Sports, Weddings. And while all of those have a place in this world, my absolute favorite photography is when it captures the simplest of moments in the absolute purest way. Hence the Life As Art documentary session was created.

So what is a LIFE AS ART session by Xsperience Photography you’re wondering? It’s a documentary session that captures the best of what makes your life special and meaningful. I want you to think about the last time you truly smiled, and thought to yourself, “I love this beautiful life of mine”. It may have been when your baby wrapped its tiny fingers around yours while your wife rested next to you. Or maybe a more simple time, but is so meaningful and representative of your current stage in life. Such as doing horse chores while your kids are splashing in the water-drenched ditches. Hey…those are some of my favorite memories on the farm as a kid!! Maybe it’s a more intentional, once in a lifetime moment like taking the kids camping in Montana. This gives you the opportunity to be present without a camera or phone in hand. I will subtly capture your real memories plus add a few perfectly posed shots when the lighting and backdrop permits.

Life, when authentic and true to who you are at your core, truly is THE BEST kind of art when captured in an intentional and professional way.

HOW THE LIFE AS ART SESSION IS CAPTURED AND DELIVERED

I arrive at your chosen location…whether it be at your home, the family farm, your cabin, a sporting event, or favorite vacation spot. The location can be completely un-staged if you want it to be 100% real and authentic, or it can be a bit “cleaner” (if it’s your home and you want the photos to be real, but still pretty)!! If not in your home, the location and time can be guided to determine the prettiest lighting and the least amount of outside distractions (such as tourists and traffic). You will be slightly guided to ensure it’s captured to its fullest potential, but for the most part, it is documentary style with very minimal posing. I’ve been told I have a calm, welcoming presence and kids warm up to me fairly quickly!

The goal is to keep it real, but also make the “real” look photogenic. Embracing the imperfections, while minimizing distractions. Regardless, the memories created will be beautiful, real, and 100% you, and will allow you to see firsthand how incredibly blessed you are at this stage in life.

DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME AS A PROFESSIONAL KEEPSAKE

Your memories will be primarily documented in photograph form, but a few video clips will complete the story. Some moments deserve to be heard as well as seen! You will receive a digital photo frame that has passed the “quality test” in every way. It is beautifully designed to fit perfectly in any room of your choice. The image quality is stunning! It will be set up and ready to share your professional gallery which will truly look like “art” if it isn’t intermixed with non-professional phone images… no offense to your phone photography skills because I am sure they are awesome;) You will LOVE and cherish it for many years to come!!

This documentary photoshoot captures A cherished Sunday morning with the kids

Here is a sample LIFE AS ART session of the Hagemans enjoying a Sunday morning with their 4 kids. We began with baking the family chocolate chip cookie recipe, then got distracted by the adorable Beau waking from his nap. After some snuggles and wrestling in the bedroom, the kids made some art with Sam. Jon observed with pride while feeding the baby. After the cookies were finished baking, we went outside to play. The kids ran free, had a little picnic, and ended with some quality “chicken” time. Of course we had to add the chickens to the photoshoot!!
