Secluded Island Elopement | Fort Myers Beach, Florida • Xsperience Photography

It doesn’t get much more romantic than eloping on a secluded island with just you, the birds and the sound of the waves. Teegan and Philip met us in Fort Myers Beach, Florida on a hot October day. And I mean HOT!! Usually cold weather follows me, but not this time. Philip is lucky to have such a sweet, laid back bride who was 100 percent fine with him ditching the tie and rolling the pants.

We started the day at their VRBO rental home before meeting our boat Captain, Dan with Sun-N-Fun Boat Tours, to begin our adventure to the small island. We spotted a few dolphins on the way and dodged a rain cloud. I think we were all welcoming of the rain cloud, may have even been praying for it as the sweat ran down our foreheads, but we were graced with just a few sprinkles. So instead we rolled the pants, hiked up the dress, and stuck our feet in the cold ocean water. Then I sent Philip and Teegan off to find their seashells we would be using at their intimate ceremony. An island tradition is putting a seashell on a tree and making wish. It was the perfect alternative to unity candles in my opinion;) After the elopement on the island we headed to Outrigger Beach Resort on the main street of Fort Myers Beach where we sipped on cocktails and enjoyed the sun setting. We shared the beautiful sunset with many curious birds, a dude flying in the sky (thanks for waving!!) and a boy fishing (who happened to have caught a baby shark… YES, I was swimming in that water… ahhhh). Honestly, I’d do it all over again though because Outrigger Beach Resort has one of the nicest beaches and swimming areas.

Our big day went off without a hitch and was exactly what we had hoped it would be! We started our day off at our VRBO for a first look, a champagne toast to ease the nervous jitters, and of course, photos with the pup! Afterwards, we took a boat ride out to a secluded island (dolphin watching along the way) for an intimate (hot) ceremony and sweet little picnic on the beach. After a boat ride back to Fort Myers, we ended our day at sunset on the beach. We couldn’t have been more blessed with beautiful sunset scenery.
If we had to do our wedding day over again, we wouldn’t change a thing – it was a dream of a day that we will cherish forever!”
