If this is the kind of weddings I get to shoot due to this Covid crap…bring it on 2020!!!! Seriously loving this intimate backyard wedding just down the road from my home here in Little Falls, Minnesota. I often let my wanderlust take over making me think all weddings I book need to be in far off majestic mountains, but Minnesota really is quite beautiful with it’s lush greenery, trees of all shapes and sizes, and Sarah’s Grandparents little farm even offered up some cute ponies for us in the background!
“If we are being real about our whole wedding experience, our story probably won’t sound as happy and exciting as others. We pushed through the inevitable and came out on the other side a stronger, more confident couple. Kyle and I got engaged in October of 2019. Our plan was to get married the fall of 2020 but when our favorite venue had an opening in June of 2020, we took it right away. I was still in college, so my goal was to get most of the planning done over Christmas break. It wasn’t easy, but we made it happen! With help from friends and family we got almost everything done in just a couple months. It was stress-free and so fun planning our dream wedding. Then, in March 2020 Covid came. We were back and forth on what to do with the ceremony for weeks on end. Finally, we made the extremely difficult decision to postpone our wedding to April of 2021 in order to bypass the stress of the unknown future. In the beginning, we were going to postpone the ceremony and reception because we wanted that wedding feeling with the huge ceremony and party with all of our friends and family. It was a very hard time. I had felt as if nothing went how it was supposed to. And after long conversations, arguments and tears… I am very glad that we ended up moving forward with a small, intimate ceremony on our original wedding date (June 20th). We kept the ceremony small and only invited immediate family. This made the day so incredibly real and special. Throughout this process, we learned that nothing is set in stone. Who knows if something would happen before April of 2021? This is why we decided to move forward with our ceremony. We are so happy that we made that decision!” ~Sarah
