Small Town Covid Wedding | Bowlus, Minnesota

“When Ajay and I got engaged in the summer of 2019, we new right away we wanted a summer 2020 wedding. So the planning and excitement began! After countless hours we finally had it all planned…. Then Covid-19 happened. We both hoped the predictions were incorrect and that it would pass. When we realized that it definitely was not passing, we talked (and sometimes argued) about how to proceed. 6 weeks before our wedding (and countless conversations and tears later) We decided to keep the original date and tweak our plan. With the tremendous support of family and friends our wedding day was absolutely perfect. We leaned on each other greatly throughout this process and it taught us both how valuable having each other to lean on really is. It wasn’t what we envisioned when planning a wedding, but we wouldn’t want it any other way.

After all, not everyone gets to have a Covid 19 wedding!” ~Monica

I love this…isn’t this the main reason you choose to get married?? To have someone to share your happy moments with, and someone you can count on, and lean on, during the unpredictable hard times that are inevitable throughout life?

I’m so excited Monica and Ajay made it through this challenging time and came out stronger because of it! I’m also grateful my awesome Associate Photographer Liz Merten was available to photograph this special day in the small town of Bowlus, Minnesota.
