Minnesota’s winters can be cold and miserable, but in an instant be transformed into a majestic and magical wonderland. My little girl has been waiting for an excuse to wear her favorite flower girl dress and insisted on taking some pretty pictures in the foot of snow that fell last night. I talked her into adding some warm snow boots and a jean jacket and she agreed since you couldn’t see the boots because her dress was “so long and pretty” in her words.
Advice to winter brides: head outdoors even if it’s for 10 minutes…totally worth it! This was honestly 3 minutes worth of photos. Don’t expect perfection because it’s definitely more rushed when it’s below 10 degrees, but it still captures the essence of the season you were wed.
Advice to winter Photographers: You probably think I’m going to say bundle up!! But unless I’m outside shooting groups a variety of groups, I don’t wear gloves…partly because I have to be quick to adjust my settings so I need my fingers available, but mostly because I know when I can’t feel my fingers, neither can my bride and groom.
