When you schedule an engagement session in March in Minnesota you never know what you’re going to get. We might have snow, rain, sunshine…even a blizzard!! I was a little hesitant on my drive to Cannon Falls as the scenery out my window was part snow, part flooded ditches and dead grass where the snow and water didn’t reside. Not to mention it was only 34 degrees, which sadly felt warm compared to the winter we just had.
I arrived at the Kusilek Ranch and again, was a tiny bit sad because this place held soooo many beautiful opportunities for a photoshoot, but the weather conditions turned what could be a pretty snow covered pasture, into an icy river. I put on a smile regardless after I reminded myself that engagement sessions aren’t just about the scene outside, but more about the feelings the couple have towards each other. And oh the feelings I got to capture!! AND the pretty horses!! AND the cutest and sweetest pups!! Who needs green grass or snow capped trees when the couple an the animals are as beautiful as this…
